    RECOVERY DISK OR STICK

Having prepared a full external hard drive back back up of my System Image I then normally burn a disk or memory stick as a boot recovery media.

Recently having completed the system image, I then clicked on Start and 'recovery' in readiness to prepare the recovery media when I was surprised to see a dialogue box stating that ('We cant create a recovery drive on this PC' Some required files are missing. To troubleshoot problems when your PC can't start use your Windows installation disc or media.)

I don't have a Windows installation disk as my Windows 10 (1909) system was installed from the internet.

When I ran the Belarc Advisor program it stated that my operating version was 1903 and there were at least two security updates missing including Adobe flash player and a Microsoft update version 10.0.18362.1.

I would appreciate any advice on resolving this problem.

    :)

XP disk versus Laptop Recovery Disk?

Recovery disks are just OEM copies of XP disks. Ie, they can have things such as the companys logo within the files.

If you got a normal XP disk you cant use it. The only way your dads copy of XP will activate is if your normal XP copy is OEM, unless you use the recovery disk.

I always use the recovery disks. Works just like a normal copy *Smile RECOVERY DISK OR STICK :). Plus with the recovery disks you dont need the serial key as I *think* its embedded into the files on the disk. Just need to activate windows once on the net *Wink RECOVERY DISK OR STICK ;).
