Windows 10: Recycle Bin and Update issues

First, when I delete something it is not going into the recycle bin but being completely deleted. Sometimes I have a choice as to whether to delete it or send it to the bin and then there is no problem, other times these is no choice. This has only started happening recently as before, deleted files went to the bin anyway.


Secondly, I have hardly any programmes on my PC but the hard drive is almost full, only a few GB left. I am putting this down to the size of the Windows Updates and the immense amount of Microsoft stuff on it that you can't get rid of. Everything of my own is stored on external drives and everything has been cleaned, i.e. defrag, temp files, disk cleanup etc etc, nothing left to clean now.


What can I do now as my PC will probably not take any more updates through no fault of my own?

To prevent your files from being deleted from the Recycle Bin, we suggest increasing the maximum file size your Recycle Bin can keep by following the steps below:

• Right click on the Recycle Bin icon.
• Under the Settings for selected location, select Custom size.
• Fill up the box for your allotted maximum file size for your Recycle Bin.
