Windows 10: recycle bin won't delete the files I choose

I like to choose which files I delete in the recycle bin.Meaning I keep the deleted files for about a month and then delete them.When I do this, I highlight the first file and then shift and highlight the rest on the page.The first one works but after that, the next one doesn't.Why not? Now really weird thing is, if I go back to recycle bin an hour or so later, that second lot of files will be gone. WT??? It seems such a simple thing.... why won't it work?thanks

To prevent your files from being deleted from the Recycle Bin, we suggest increasing the maximum file size your Recycle Bin can keep by following the steps below:

• Right click on the Recycle Bin icon.
• Under the Settings for selected location, select Custom size.
• Fill up the box for your allotted maximum file size for your Recycle Bin.

Recycle Bin was deleted

Hi Raghav,

If we, by mistake, deleted the Recycle Bin icon on our desktop, we can still recover it.

Here are the steps to recover the Recycle Bin:

• Go to Start.
• Select Settings.
• Choose Personalization > Themes > Desktop icon settings.
• Check the box beside Recycle Bin, then press Apply.
• Hit the OK button.
