    red cross on defender shield in taskbar


    A red cross instead of the green tick is showing on the defender shield in the taskbar, meaning action needed. When I open the defender control panel everything is ticked green and the last definition update was today. Does anybody know why the red cross is there?

    Defender shield in taskbar

    That's my point. 3 Pc's have green check marks on the Defender shield in the taskbar.
    The concerning PC has no checkmark of any kind, just a plain shield. It used to but has lost it in the past week. Scans look good, been restarted several times, have tried all the common troubleshooting. Just seems something isn't right.

    Hi Vijay thanks for the prompt answer, unfortunately I tried all these steps earlier...…...I can connect to the internet easily......it's just that it seems that any internal system that wants to auto connect, can't do so and the only problem I see is
