Windows 10: Red cross on sound

Hello,
I have a fresh install on my PC and for some reason it doesn't detect my headphones,
I've plugged them in the front and rear and still no luck, all drivers and software are up to date,
any idea what's happening?

They did use to work before the fresh install.

We suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps:

Method 1:

We suggest you to install all the Windows Updates,
follow the steps below.

Step 1: At the Start screen, type
Windows Update.

Step 2: Select Check for Update.

Step 3: Download and Install the latest Windows Updates.

Method 2:

I would suggest you to run the Microsoft Security scanner for the issue and check.

again. While scanning the hard drive if any bad sectors are found, the scanner tries to repair that sector, any data available on that might be lost



Method 3:

We suggest you to update all the drivers:

• 
  Press Windows Key + X key and click Device Manager.
  
• 
  Update all the drivers.
  
• 
  Download the drivers from manufacture's website for Windows 10, if there no drivers available for Windows 10, download the latest driver from the manufacturer’s website and
  try installing it in compatibility mode.
  Compatibility mode runs the program using settings from a previous version of Windows.
  

Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

• Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website.
• Right-click on the driver setup file and click on
  ‘properties’.
• Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box
  ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation.
• Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

Open device manager and see if you have any devices needing a driver update.

 

Done that,
All drivers are upto date and did a restart.
Realtek HD Audio Manager driver version is 6.0.1.7687
There is no updates on my PC.

 

Maybe there's some disabled devices on your sound option, or that you have accidentally muted your audio.

 

These all of the devices that show up,
the G246HL-4 is one of my monitors that doesn't have speakers.

 

No clue as to why Realtek doesn't show as "Ready" when your plugged in your headphones

 

It's a fresh install aswell, that's the worst thing about it.
