Windows 10: Red Screen of Debt...

Today, our PC got hit with the red popup stating that our bank account had been hit with an attempted hack and that you need to call Microsoft Support at a toll free number. SWMBO immediately hit the power switch to force a power off. She had been on the Daily Mail website, which is rife with popup ads. I unplugged the internet connection to the router and rebooted the PC. After it booted up successfully, I ran CCleaner, updated all of the AV tools I have installed and ran full system scans with Norton 360, MBAM, Spybot, & MSERT. All found no infections. I’m pretty sure the malware originated from a third party pixel element in one of the many, many ads served up by the website. The red popup had all of the typical signs of a malware hack and SWMBO recognized it before anything bad could happen. Our bank provides identity theft protection, but I called right away to check for any attempts on our accounts. The bank said nothing had transpired out of the ordinary in the prior hours, but noted the ATM withdrawal I had done just prior to SWMBO calling me about the red popup. A couple of months ago, someone we know got this hack, panicked, called the number on the screen, and gave the hacker remote access to their system. Fortunately, they got the system disconnected from the internet before any real damage was done. Their bank also verified no hits, but their distress was felt for weeks after.

Windows 10 Sudden Red Screen

Hi Hargens,

In most cases, red screen on Windows 10 is caused by a hardware error, or incompatible drivers. For us to isolate the issue, we would like to ask the following questions:

• What is the build number and version of your Windows?
• To avoid repetition, can you enumerate the steps that you have done?
• Have you encountered any error messages or codes?

In the meantime, we suggest that you start your PC in safe mode.
If the problem doesn't happen in safe mode, you'll know that the default settings and basic device drivers aren't causing the issue.

Laptop with broken screen How much?

I would like suggestions and look in local stores. I dont wanna buy a laptop from someone online. Sorry. But could be a good idea if you asked him about the performance on older games. Gonna make a list ofall laptops people suggest me.

Remove the screen for space purpose here its small desk and if the screen is opened it will hide my 22 inches lcd
