Windows 10: referenced account is currently locked out... for no reason

    I'm lost with this. I'll log into this this computer using the password and I'm in. No issues. Then I restart it, and suddenly I can't log in and I get the "the referenced account is currently locked out and may not be logged on to" message. In other words, I haven't put in the wrong password three times. I haven't entered the wrong password even one time. Sometimes I can log in after waiting 30 minutes. I get the same error. I've edited the Account Lockout Policy. None of those changes seem to affect what is happening when I attempt to log in. I also added another user account to the computer

    Sorry for the late reply and thanks for sharing additional info. Since there's no issue with your Microsoft account, the error might be caused by multiple incorrect password entry and it usually gets resolved after waiting for a couple of hours before retrying but if its still the same after a day, I suggest following the steps in the link below to help you troubleshoot.
