Windows 10: Regarding Games major stuttering and soung lagging After windows 10 upgrade from windows 7

I tried playing GTA 4 yesterday, it was smooth for a few seconds gameplay and then suddenly major lags and glitch sounds.

I thought There was an error with the installation, but no.


So I tried playing prototype 2, which I had played when I had windows 7, and it ran really smooth.


NOW, I can't play prototype 2 either, no games can be played. After a few seconds, there's major lag.


I've tried all known methods

Background processes stopped.

Disabled unnecessary animations

Enabled Game Mode

Enabled Ultimate performance battery

Enabled performance in nvidia control panel.

Decreased all the graphics settings to the lowest possible.

Tried stutter game fixes for windows 10 from multiple websites.

Tried opening in administrator mode.

Tried opening in windows 7 and 8 compatibility modes.


I STILL CAN'T GET ANY GAME TO WORK .


Please help me fix this issue.


NOTE 1 : Idk if this is because of the insider build? I never played games after windows 10, so.

NOTE 2: Geforce Experience does not recognize these games even if they are supported games even after pointing to the right folder to scan for games


All my drivers are updated too.

PLEASE HELP ME FIX THIS.

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:

• Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
• Try different keyboard or mouse.
• Restart computer, repeatedly.
• Google for related issues.
• Update Bios, because why not.
• Create boot media and revert to windows 7.

The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.

windows 7 8 or 10

I'd say buy Windows 7 as it's much cheaper than 10, then upgrade to 10 straight away for the same reasons as what @Mussels said; DX12 will be required for games in the future.

I personally have run into no major problems with 10, it's been like Windows 7 for me but just a lot more stylish, a cleaner looking UI and faster on start-up.
