  1. Regarding How to Turn On the Option Bar in '' Checks Apps and Files'' in App and Browser...

I have been trying in different ways to turn on this option, but I couldn't. and it mentioned as ''This setting is managed by your administrator. So the process of this option mentioned as '' windows defender smart screen helps protect your device by checking for unrecognized apps and files from the of web''. so that's the option that I can't turn on. Expecting your quick response for this problem. My computer details are intel core i5 and windows 10 pro.

    Thank You....!

  2. No option to pin apps to taskbar or uninstall apps

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

    • Open an Administrator CMD window. If you can’t find a way, use these steps:

      • Press CTRL+Shift+ESC to open Task Manager.

      • Click File > Run New Task

      • Make sure you have a check mark beside “Create this task with administrative privileges”

      • Type CMD

    • Type the following commands at the CMD prompt:

      dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

      sfc /scannnow

Then try to check if you find the option by right clicking on any app.

Let us know the status of the issue.

  3. John Sarc Win User
Windows Defender Blocking Installations of Downloaded Apps

    Hi Craig,

There's a possibility that the SmartScreen option is on that's why you're unable to install downloaded apps. Let's try to turn it off and see if it helps. See the steps below:

    • Open Windows Defender Security Center from your Start menu, desktop, or taskbar.
    • Click on the App and browser control button on the left side of the window.
    • Click on Off in the Check apps and files section.

Let us know if the suggestion helps you out.
