Windows 10: Regarding recycle bin corrupted external drive has anyone noticed the fact it only occurs...

Suspect this is a permission issue because ids like .849C9593-D756-4E56-8D6E-42412F2A707B appear in OneDrive Permissions and also in eg E: drive permissions. Trying to eliminate the by editing permissions brings no success.State will revert down the line. Also suspect MS login by PIN may be involved. Since Win 10 and 11 attempts to have a common Data Drive has been compromised by continual Recycle Bin Corrupted messages.

Managing a recycle bin on an external drive

Hi,

Your external hard drive has its own recycle bin folder where the deleted files from it are stored. In order to delete those deleted files, we need to access first the recycle bin folder of the external hard drive. Follow these steps:

• Open File Explorer.
• At the top menu, click View.
• On the right pane, click Options > Change folder and search options.
• In the Folder options window, click the View tab.
• Under the Advanced settings, tick or select Show hidden files, folders, and drives.
• Uncheck Hide protected operating system files.
• Click Apply, then OK.

Once saved, try to access your external hard drive. Its recycle bin should now be visible. You may then open the recycle bin folder and delete the files inside it.

Corrupted recycle bin


When I turn on the computer each day, I get a message "The Recycle Bin on G:\ is corrupted. Do you want to empty the Recycle Bin for this Drive\?" Drive G is where I have my Passport external drive for backup. Any suggestions on how to address and resolve this? Thanks.
