Windows 10: Regarding Reinstalling Windows 10.

So, recently my laptop crashed and now its unable to boot up. I watched some tutorials regarding its fixing but nothing worked and the only solution seems to use USB with windows iso downloaded from media creation tool. So I watched some tutorials regarding how to reinstall it. But i have got 2 questions ?


1.Windows came pre installed in that model. I don't remember its edition but when I saw my microsoft account it showed CORE SINGLE LANGUAGE But as in tutorials I didn't see any edition like that. So will i have to chose HOME SINGLE LANGUAGE so I don't face any problem in its licence activation ?


2.The laptop came with windows 1809 version and now I will have to install 1909 or later as media creation tool allows the latest version only. So I want to know that after installing it, If I try to reset it using settings app then will it roll back to version 1809 or the current one.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

[Solved] Windows 10 keeps reinstalling KB3119142

I noticed quite some time ago that KB3119142 (Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Update 4 Redistributable Package) kept reinstalling itself for some reason. At least once daily. Sometimes up to several times a day. I just ignored it. It didn't seem to be doing any harm. And I figured they'd eventually fix it. Well...days turned into weeks, weeks into months, with no end to the problem in sight. It dragged on unsolved for at least the last few months. Literally reinstalling itself hundreds of(at least a hundred, felt like more) times in that period of time.

So I finally googled it a couple days ago. And just got around to fixing it today. Which appears to have worked. And it couldn't have been easier to do. I feel so stupid to have let it intimidate me for so long.*Oops!
