Windows 10: Regarding Windows Recovery Partition

Unblock it(right click it select properties, unblock is at the bottom), and copy it to C:\Windows\System32\Recovery
Then run reagentc /enable

 

Winre is Windows Recovery Environment, and it needs to be a .wim, not the .esd that one gets from the Windows download tool.

That's why it needed to be converted, which I had already done.

 

@Cliff S By following your method i am able to restore my recovery partition. But now i am just wondering if there's also a way to restore the EFI partition from my old SIB?

Just letting you know after taking the hint from you, i replaced the wim file you sent me with the one i have in the recovery partation backup that i have because i just noticed my window version is home in this laptop, my other 2 laptop are window pro hence the confusion.

 

By your screenshot, you already have an EFI partition, you're good there. Plus you couldn't boot without it.

 

As you can see i have mounted the vdhx files of the recovery and efi partations from my SIB and now i am successful in restoring my recovery partation from SIB and by using the same of mounting and then copy and paste the efi files from old back to new system i think i will be able to restore efi partation too. But idk where is the efi partation in the window like we have the recovery in C:window:sytem32.

 

That's a significant advantage of Reflect amongst others - you might want to use that in future. Note you don't really need a recovery partition if you make a separate recovery USB drive.

 

I know but dont you think without the original efi partition that i had with my out of factory window copy that i will be able to reset the windows to the factory settings? Because earlier i was able to restore only the C partition on top of a fresh window 10 c partition and now i am successful in restoring the original recovery partition but the efi partition is still missing from the original windows copy.

I know its a bit confusing and i am sorry for wasting your time. I am sharing the link to the thread from where i get the idea of restoring just the c partition may be after reading that post you will get the whole picture of what i am trying to accomplish. Yes indeed it is and i am using it for now. But i did not know that Microsoft has Deprecated their inbuilt SIB utility and i made the mistake of making the SIB using windows inbuilt utility and format my hard drive because my laptop was giving me some trouble. And when i tried to restore that SIB and couldn't then i did some search and found out what was happening but anyway it was too late for me, damage was already done.

 

The EFI never changes after it's created during the initial Windows install. It's only needed if you boot GPT and not MBR(legacy partitioning).

 

Allright. But i am still unable to reset my pc. Although the initial setup starts but it keeps stopping at 26 percent.
