Windows 10: RegCreateKeyEx failed: code 5. Access denied

Gentlemen,


Since having installed the WIN10 1809 version I get several times when (re)installing a file the message in the subject line. This happens also when attempting to install as Administrator.

I have checked also the entries in the registry, but under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall" non of the programmes were indicated that I wanted to install.

Troubleshooting service in Update&Security could also not repair the problem.

What else to do?

Type Controlled Folder Access into Start Search, right click result to Run as Administrator, turn off Folder Access.

Try this:

Right click Start button to open Run box, copy and paste in netplwiz, press Enter.

Highlight your account, then click Properties, then Group Membership tab. click on Administrator, then Apply, OK, restart PC.

If you can't get the rights to do this then use whichever method works here to enable the hidden Built-in Administrator to be used only in emergencies:

Sign into Hidden Admin account, set up new Local Admin Account, sign into it, move your files over, set it up, hide the Hidden Admin Account, when ready delete the old account in Settings > Accounts > Family and Other Users.

Disk space - Space Sniffer Access is denied - Code 5

I have a acer 5552 running windows 10 although this problem was there under windows 5

I ran space sniffer and this shows 106.2GB of unaccessable space. The space sniffer console shows the files that make up this space. Here is an example

All the files end with hte Access is denied - code 5

Can I delete these to release disk space or is there anything else I can do ?
