Windows 10: Registry Cleaning

So you hate it for doing, what it is supposed to be doing?! Uncheck those:

 

I removed every reg cleaner I had. They cannot be trusted, especially in Windows 10. I use CCleaner and that is it. I also am careful with it. Most of the reg cleaners do more harm than good.

 

Indeed, trust is important, I would not touch anything from Iobit, Auslogics or Baidu.

 

Yes I knew someone would say that. It's simple nothing should be ticked by default, same as Win 10 *Wink. Its removed now and will remain that way!

 

I downloaded something from Iobit and it took me quite a long time to remove all the malware or adware that came with it. I now manually clean my registry of items that I know no longer belong there.

 

Well just had to put my 2 cents worth in on registry cleaning. I have been cleaning my registry for years, since windows xp, I use mainly 2 registry cleaners, one is made by Ace Utilites ( MY favorite) and of course CC cleaner. I own both of these fine programs. I have never had a serious problem using these two. I am 65 years old, been playing on computers since OS2 Warp. Bet a lot of you never even heard of OS2 Warp. Grin. Anyhow, If your registry cleaning software is good, cleaning your registry does improve your system!!! No matter what anyone says. Just my opinion.

 

Well, I know OS2 Warp. *Smile This was one of the OS clients could choose to have installed on their brand new PC. *Wink Only a few did.

 

Well Rudy, I ran OS2 Warp for about 2 years I think, was so long ago I can't remember exactly.... but it never crashed was rock solid for me. I don't think their was any version of Windows back then?? I switched because of lack of appointments being made for it. *Smile

 

I use CCleaner, McAfee Quickclean and Windows cleaner. No problem with using either. In fact each seems to catch problems missed by the other two.

 

I learned the hard way to stay away from the registry cleaner part of CCleaner. I use the disk cleaner part every day at startup.

A good program to use for cleaning up junk files left after uninstalling a program is Revo Uninstaller (Free version). Not only does it use the program you want to remove's built in uninstaller, it also checks the registry for any crumbs and the hard drive for any remaining crumbs. I used the free version for so many years and liked it, I went ahead and bought the pro version for a few extra features I also like.

I like CCleaner a lot, but I will never even think about the registry cleaner part.

 

Awww chicken......lol I use 3 different reg cleaners, have used 2 of those 3 for years. CCleaner is a very mild reg cleaner out of the 3 I use. I also own Revo Uninstaller Pro, which also does registry cleaning toooo. Most of these programs make a backup of the registry before cleaning them anyhow. But, your right I know lots of folks that are very nervous about using any reg cleaner. I'm just been doing it a long time now, so its no big deal for me.

 

I run the registry cleaning of CCleaner on a regular basis and have never had a problem. I trust it so much, I always say no to the backup. I tried Revo and guess what, it didn't do anything more than CCleaner does. Uninstalling through CCleaner and then running the registry clean does the same as using Revo.

 

Well you got a point, but sometimes, What one program misses, the other one does not, Ace Utilities finds more than both of those two combined.

 

I have never had a single issue using the registry cleaner part of CCleaner. Been using it for years, including on Windows 10 now.

 

I use CCleaner and got the pro version have used it on all my computers and laptops even installed it on friends of mine.

My friends computer was lagging and shutting down run CCleaner and Disk Defragger and it went from being nearly thrown through the window by him to now very fast.
Only 2 company I trust to install any software from is primaform makers of CCleaner and Auslogics makers of Disk Defraggler and never had any trouble at all.
I have CCleaner Monitoring running in the background and when I shut edge or any forum or page CCleaner cleans the disc and gives me the space back
It is how you use it and don't tick any boxes you are not sure off
