Registry edit not working on a second windows account

Recently, I made edits in the Registry Editor so that I could use my keyboard at the same time as my touchpad HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Synaptics > SynTP > TouchPad > PalmDetectConfig and then changed the hexadecimal and decimal values to 0. This worked fine on the account I made the edits on; however, I had to make a new windows account on the same device for separate reasons aftermaking the edit on the first.

As far as my understanding goes, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE should make edits to the whole device and not be account specific, but on this second account, I can't use my touchpad and keyboard at the same time. I went into the registry again on the second account and found that the decimal and hexadecimal values are still 0.

Does anyone know how I can use my touchpad and keyboard at the same time on this second account a different way, or why the edit doesn't seem to work on this account?

    :)

    Hello,

This issue may have occurred after one of the following situations:

    • You upgrade the Windows operating system.
    • You install or uninstall CD or DVD recording programs.
    • You uninstall Microsoft Digital Image.

Given that, we suggest performing the methods in this article:
Your CD or DVD drive is not recognized by Windows or other programs
    .
The resolutions that are listed in that article may help solve some instances but not all instances of this problem.

Important:This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow
these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, refer to the following Microsoft Knowledge Base
    article.

Feel free to update us with the results.

Strange Windows 10 User Account issue.

Unfortunately I had done those steps numerous reboots, it just, reappears for no good reason. The base account isn't even a Microsoft account, it's a local account.

I haven't quite tried the built in administrator account on W10, but so far in my experience on my own computer, the built in account seemed to have absolutely no more control than I did on my own.

It's just strange, I go in, it warns me twice about deleting the account, then it's gone. Reboot, and it's back?

EDIT: Just to specify, both command line and Netplwiz both say only HIS account exists on the computer, it doesn't list this rogue account. This is what I meant in my first post about the fact that even Windows doesn't seem to believe it exists, HALF the time. *Frown Registry edit not working on a second windows account :(

    Remove account

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:
    1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
    2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:
