Windows 10: Reinstall 8.1 Pro with Media Center.

Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center.: After a hardware failure I did a complete reinstall of the system. No backup was available. Now Media Center will not Activate and Playready will not update.. 8.1 support ended, but I need t return to functionality.

In regard to your DVD Rom drive - go to -control panel/device manager/DVD/CD-ROM drives -make a note of the make and model number Example: Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-215D ATA Device - highlight the device you have installed -press right mouse button-select properties-details-property and select Install Date from the drop down list and let us know this.

XP Media Center Edition installed with XP Pro CD

I'm reinstalling XP on a friends PC. The CD key is for Media Center Edition but I only have a XP Pro CD. Can I reinstall windows with their key using and XP Pro CD?

 

Win 8.1 Pro Windows Media Center Expired

I bought a license Windows Media Center with Win 8.1 Pro. I am of course getting notices that Windows Media Center will not get TV scheduled listings after the end of 2019. Win 8.1 Pro lifecycle is "The lifecycle of Windows 8.1 will remain under the

same lifecycle policy as Windows 8 with support ending 1/10/2023." So it seems Microsoft is again reneging on promises. If you bought a licence for WMC for Win8.1 Pro they should have the same lifecycle?

I was a Windows Vista Ultimate purchaser with all the promises of special innovative things being rolled out. Microsoft didn't fulfill that promise.
