Windows 10: Reinstalling Windows 10 - Double-Checking

I run a small computer club, teaching older people to use computers. I have a student who has an HP all-in-one, bought with W8.1 and then upgraded to W10. The system is clearly partially corrupted, and I would like to reinstall W10 - there is no complete system backup.

I used the create media method in a memory stick to upgrade some W7 laptops given to us (using 1511) - can I use that to reinstall W10 over the top of the existing W10 and have it activated? Looking at some of the threads here, I think activation should be OK, but I am a bit twitchy about the rest of it.

We are still on 1511 in the UK.

Any advice would be appreciated.

hey..i've changed my lcd recently..but today i found when switching to landspace mode (FIFA 2007)..i notice at the right got some multicolour lines...so n82 ppl..can u check ur phones to see if it is normal..but lcd is working fine?...IMO, is it possible
to spoil da lcd if use auto rotate screen that often?...

i dont think you can spoil an lcd if you use the rotation... might want to double check your installation... particularly see if there is some pressure to the screen from the housing that is unnecessary...

 

You should be on version 1607, being in the UK does not make a difference. *Smile I would suggest you download the latest ISO from the link I will post for you, and then you will have 2 choices, a clean install or a repair install. Repair install would be my 1st choice as it does not remove any personal files or 3rd party programs installed. I will also post a link that explains it for you.

This is the latest version you should be on. To find out your version information, just type WINVER at your command prompt admin.




Mine is the Windows Pro , but the Home version is the same version and build #

I have three W10 systems, and all are still on 1511 (W10 Pro) - I had better check on that.

Just as update, as if by magic this Wednesday, 1607 appeared - so there must have been some kind of zoning.
