During my last install of windows 10 I only had 3 gb ram and now have the required 4gb. Will this be what my system needs in order to get it up to a 32 bit os x32 based processer? If not what are some suggestions for me to try?

    :)

    Confused about 64 bit support

In my dell pc when I open windows information it shows 32 bit os and x64 bit based processor.

But when I check the same in system information of my pc it shows x86 based (32bit) pc.

I'm using windows 10 32 bit upgraded online.

    (Previously I had win7 32 bit)

But I want to install 64 bit version of win10.

When I install windows 10 using usb it got stuck in windows logo and no process take place.

    Every answers will appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

  3. 1709 update

My system is a 32-bit OS, x64 based processor.

I downloaded the 2018-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64 based system.

The installer message "the update in not applicable to your computer."

    Is there a different download?

Not quite sure what you're asking. With 4Gb RAM you don't need a 64 bit OS. The only real justification would be that you wanted to run a program only available in 64 bits.

If that's not so, install 32 bits.

However, if you want transferability to a new PC with more RAM, or if you intend to add more, then install a 64bit OS.

    - I'm afraid that doesn't make sense.

What is it you would like to achieve?

Its virtually guaranteed that any PC from the last decade or so will have a 64 bit processor. That means it can run either the 64 bit version of Windows or equally, the 32 bit.

It is your choice which to install, however bear in mind that (hardware depending) you may find 64 bit drivers harder to come by. Also if you have 4Gb of RAM installed then the 32 bit version of W10 will not be able to use all of it, however the 32 bit version could be a little faster intrinsically, even with less RAM in use.

I'm currently using 32 bit (with 4Gb RAM) and find it pretty much indistinguishable from the 64 bit version on the same system. Had I more RAM then it would be no contest, it would be x64 every time.
