Windows 10: Reintalling Windows 10 after Dell some turned on Bitlocker

I am having some issues reinstalling Windows 10 after I received a repaired laptop from Dell today and went to turn it on and BitLocker had been turned on and I dont have the recovery key for this computer


I have created a new Windows 10 install disk on a USB drive. Everything was going smoothly until I got to the tab of "where do you want to install windows"


I see Drive 0 with 6 partitions I did not do this so I dont know why its this way


Partition 1 - 650MB - States can't be installed because partition must be formatted to NTFS I dont know how to do that

Partition 2 - 128MB - MSR Reserved

Partition 3 - 223.9GB - States BitLocker encrypation is enabled and to turn it off Can't obviously I dont have the recovery key

Partition 4 - 798MB - Recovery - Says MS recovery cant install

Partition 5 - 12GB - Recovery, same as partition 4

Partition 6 - 1.1GB - Dellsupport - also says same as 4 and 5


I assume I have to go to partition 3 but how do I reinstall with BitLocker there


At this point I just want to wipe and reinstall, I backed up the files before I shipped to Dell


Its an XPS 15 if thats any help.

Need to turn off Bitlocker to install Windows 10

We suggest doing the following steps again to resolve the issue. To complete the procedure, make sure that you have the following information:

• You must be able to provide administrative credentials.
• The drive must be BitLocker-protected.

To suspend BitLocker Drive Encryption on an operating system drive, please follow the steps below:

• Click Start, click Control Panel, click
  System and Security, and then click BitLocker Drive Encryption.
• Click Suspend Protection for the operating system drive.
• A message is displayed, informing you that your data will not be protected while BitLocker is suspended and asking if you want to suspend BitLocker Drive Encryption.
  
• Click Yes to continue and suspend BitLocker on the drive.

I suggest you to perform below mentioned steps to disable BitLocker.

To disable BitLocker I would suggest you try the following steps and see if it helps.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and click on
  Control Panel.
  
• 
  Change View by from Category
  to Large Icons/Small Icons.
  
• 
  Click on BitLocker Drive Encryption and click on
  Turn BitLocker Off.
  
• 
  Follow on screen instructions. Click on Decrypt the Drive
  when the message appears.

Windows 10 Pro - Turn Bitlocker on

Hello Debbie,

By default, BitLocker will use a TPM to unlock the Windows OS drive with.

If a TPM is not available, then you would need to configure a group policy to allow using BitLocker without a TPM and with a password or USB instead.
