  1. Remembering File Explorer views in each folder?

Is there a utility that can remember your customized views of various folders and keep them persistent across time? For example, I dislike being given the "Type" field in the detailed view of File Explorer, since I have Explorer set to show filename extensions, and I usually disable it, but it comes back a day or two later when you go to the exact same folder.

    :)

Win10 Home - Explorer Will Not Remember Folder Settings

    Hello,

Just want to confirm you've already completed these steps:

    1) Open File Explorer, and go into the drive you want to apply these settings to.

    2) At the top of your explorer, select View, and List in the Layout section.

    3) Select Options at the far right in View

    4) Select the View Tab at the top, and select 'Apply to Folders'

This should all the changes you're after to all folders in this drive.

If you only want to change the view settings on particular folders without affecting the entirety of file explorer, select only a specific folder and follow the steps above.

If this doesn't resolve your issue, I will provide additional information.

  4. Remembering File Explorer views in each folder?

Files remain in original folder after moving them to new folder in file explorer

    Hi,

The issue that you’ve encountered regarding the File Explorer may be caused by some configuration or files mismatched. To sort out your concern, we suggest that you reset the folder settings from the
Folder Options. This will reboot the folder’s preferences to its default state and remove any possible software conflict. To do this, you may follow these steps:

    • Click Start, type File Explorer, and press
      Enter
      .
    • On the File Explorer window, click the View tab > Options > Change folder and search options > View.
    • Under the Folder views section, click Reset Folders, and then select
      Yes to confirm.
    • Once you’re done, click OK, and then check if the issue persists.

Note: This process will remove the list of files that you recently opened.

Let us know if the suggestion works for you.
