  1. Remote Desktop Connection Randomly Disconnecting User With "Multiple Monitors" Enabled

DETAILS: User is connecting to host machine using a VPN and Remote Desktop Connection. The connection will work for a while and then begin to disconnect every 0-60 minutes thereafter until the remote machine is restarted. The problem only seems to effect the user when the session is established with "Use all my monitors for the remote session". Unchecking "Use all my monitors...." seems to resolve the issue when it is occurring right upon connection, but we haven't tested it for long periods as multiple monitors are required for the user. Both the client and remote machine are domain joined run

    :)

  2. Microsoft Remote Desktop APP (NOT Connection!) Multiple Monitors

Just switched to Windows Server 2016 Standard implementing RDS. We want remote users to be able to use Timezone redirection and enabled it in Group Policy. It does not work with the Remote Desktop Connection so after hours of trying we tried the Microsoft
Remote Desktop APP. It works in the App so we decided to switch EXCEPT we just found that the APP does not seem to support multiple monitors.

So more Microsoft frustration. We have to decide which is more important, timezone or multiple monitors.

Has anyone been able to get multiple monitors to work with the Microsoft Remote Desktop APP?

    Remote desktop multiple monitors

    Hi AsadJamal1,

I am an independent advisor and a Microsoft user like you, and I would be happy to help you out with this.

When you open the Remote Desktop Connection client on the demo PC, under the Display tab, under Display configuration, do you have the setting enabled for "Use all my monitors for the remote session?"

Also, does the demo PC also have 3 monitors, or is it a different type of monitor set up?

I hope this has helped you. If this is not what you are looking for, please reply and let us know and we would be happy to look into providing some different suggestions!

    Regards,

    -Ashton

  4. Remote Desktop Connection Randomly Disconnecting User With "Multiple Monitors" Enabled

    Remote Desktop and Multiple Monitors

I have a laptop that is connected to two external monitors and everything works great until we log into a remote desktop. Once logged in we can't make the screen full size or move windows from one monitor to the other. I've double-checked the RDP setting
to show full screen and to enable on all monitors but that doesn't work. Anyone had this issue? I want the same functionality in the RDP environment that I get in google when I have multiple windows open and move things between screens. Help!
