    Hello all,

I have a windows 10 machine running on a pentium g3258 to act as a plex server. It's low powered but has always behaved. It's not connected to a monitor, keyboard or mouse and the way i've always administered it was to remote into the pc using RDP. This has always worked until recently.

Now, i can remote in, end that session, then upon remoting in again it crashes. Hard lock, full power cycle restart has to be done manually. I've tried running another NIC on the device to see if it was a network card issue but that isn't the problem as it occurs with that too.

I'm at a loss at this point. Has anyone experienced a similar issue?

Remote desktop causes target system crash

Hi, I have recently started getting an instant crash of the target computer on my home network when I try to connect to it using remote desktop. This started happening with the Windows 10 Creators update.

The target computer gets a green screen crash with the message "Unexpected Kernel Mode Trap"

The Target computer is Windows 10 Pro v.1703 Build 15063.674

The other computer is Windows 10 Home v.1703 Build 15063.674

    Any ideas appreciated.

    Thanks

  3. remote desktop

    Hello,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Please help me with the below details to understand your issue in a better way:

    1. Are you using the Microsoft remote desktop app?

If you are using the Microsoft remote desktop app downloaded from
Microsoft store then, I suggest you to follow the steps to
fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store
    .

If the issue still persists with the Microsoft remote desktop app, then you can contact the support team by going to the

    link
and scrolling down to the bottom and clicking on
Microsoft remote desktop support under the Publisher info.

However, if you are using the Remote desktop connection, which comes pre-installed with Windows 10, then I suggest you to please post your question in the
    TechNet forum.

    Hope it helps.
