  1. Remote Desktop Service attempting to use GPU but failing with several errors...think is a BUG

    Hi.

I am working on a project where remote users have to access their Win10pro stations from their homes and they need to be able to use the GPU with different applications including watching youtube videos. Without the GPU the video quality is not good and the CPU usage skyrockets affecting their work.

The problem that we are having is that when connecting via remote desktop the GPU is used for about a minute and then stops working completely. If a user is working in front of his/her station thye GPU works well. The problem is only via RDP.

Here is what is going on. I hope somebody can help us.

I am connecting from a Win10Pro to another Win10Pro both 20H2 19042.844 in our LAN and the Host machine succeeds but after about a minute fails to use the GPU for the Remote Desktop Service connection. I know this because I left the task manager open with the GPU column visible and it shows for maybe a minute while the screen is blinking the Remote Desktop Service using the GPU with about 5% and then 0% thereafter. Afterwards I can not connect anymore and I see an error on the screen see picture 2 attached

There are a number of errors 10110, 10111, 7031 and 1000 see screen pictures belowin the event log that in my humble opinion show a bug. I have attached 7 pictures with all the relevant information including the policies active at the moment and the list of error with codes and descriptions.

    Here are the pictures:

  2. 5 monitors on Remote Desktop

I have an issue with Microsoft Remote Desktop.

I am running 5 monitors on an 580 AMD 8GB GPU.

This was working fine locally and on the remote desktop - however now when I try to connect to the remote, it only allows one monitor on the remote desktop. If I unplug any one of the monitors, I can get 4 of the monitors to work over the remote.

Not sure if this is to do with an AMD update, remote, or my GPU. I don't think it is the GPU as this powers all five perfectly well, and I also switch on my motherboards DVI port and ran one monitor off that and 4 on the GPU, and still didn't work.

    Any suggestions welcome....

  3. remote desktop

    Hello,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Please help me with the below details to understand your issue in a better way:

    1. Are you using the Microsoft remote desktop app?

If you are using the Microsoft remote desktop app downloaded from
Microsoft store then, I suggest you to follow the steps to
fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store
    .

If the issue still persists with the Microsoft remote desktop app, then you can contact the support team by going to the

    link
and scrolling down to the bottom and clicking on
Microsoft remote desktop support under the Publisher info.

However, if you are using the Remote desktop connection, which comes pre-installed with Windows 10, then I suggest you to please post your question in the
    TechNet forum.

    Hope it helps.
