    Remove Administrator how?

Do not ask for help via Team Viewer on any forum. You may get more than you bargained for.

Members of this forum appear to be honest and friendly with no motives other than to help. And I am sure that is usually the case. But there are people who will join a forum with very different motives. They will be quite willing to connect to your computer with Team Viewer, even appearing to hesitate enough to avoid suspicion. And they may actually do what is requested. But they will also install a back door into your computer for their own purposes, such as accessing your banking information. This could be done be very quickly and difficult to detect, even for an expert. You have no way of knowing who these individuals are.

I don't know if this forum has an outright prohibition against using Team Viewer among members (some do) but it is certainly discouraged. Most members wouldn't even consider doing this.

The image in the first post is not an error but a simple statement of fact. The computer appears to have only one administrator level account and you are attempting to demote it to a standard user. For your own protection this is not permitted. All modern versions of Windows, as well as Linux and the Mac, require an admin level account. The names may differ but they all have a similar purpose. Most system settings and repairs can only be made with an admin account. If such an account does not exist you will have many problems for which there will be no easy solutions.

Many people are confused by the admin account. They see a message that says administrator approval is necessary to perform some action. They think the admin account is acting as a roadblock to what they wish to do and if it could be deleted they could do what they wished with no problems. That is not the case at all.

The Admin account is not blocking access, it is the means of access.

Something doesn't seem right here. The OP claims to want to remove himself, the ONLY user on the computer as administrator, claims to be overwhelmed with it when Windows won't let him remove the only functional administrator account on the computer (which we all know is disastrous), but yet is savvy enough to set up Teamviewer remote access? Hmmmm.........

  5. Upon hearing that one I decided to sit back and see what became of this! First off I simply won't be handing out my own remote access to any "unknowns"! and Secondly wouldn't be anyone to be doing the same. What's the catch? And even two members here did decide to work on such a project I would still strongly advise see a VM not the Host for each to be what was connected to each other for security reasons there as well.

As for an example of what would happen when the sole user account also being the only admin account is nuked you can kiss the OS good bye as well since a brand new VM was needed as well as already being planned at the time or a complete fresh install of Windows would be the end result to see a working OS put back on again. If there is some concern about unauthorised access by another person the best and smartest option for added security would be locking up the existing admin or seeing a new admin account created first before nuking the first and then still adding on a second Standard account where new passwords were put into use for both new accounts. That will lock things up tighter!

The guides here have already been well prepared and when followed by reviewing each step carefully are easy to follow. What is in the works here however is being able to make desktop recordings for instructional type videos that can be viewed that will take the viewer through each step of the process as well as see the types of obstacles that can come up at times. The latest Insider build now offers the option to hide personal details like email addresses and other things that can make that happen now that I also have a recording program that offers a pause option both on the GUI's buttons and setting up hot keys for start, stop, pause, etc.

The one thing the Team Viewer program does offer between two systems is allowing one to view the other remotely without unintended access. In other words the one viewing is unable to effect anything on the other pc which sees the Remote Desktop feature in the disabled mode. That allows a corporate host pc to be view by several satellite worker pcs. But I still don't even that a 100% security cert for that either!

  7. And even that is understating things a bit! I now have a 7 VM recording going to bring 10 on there without media by the online updated and then record(Hopefully this time around) the entire process to enable the Insider builds and see the latest just out today go on. This one uses the Get-Window-10 - Web-default.exe type of download for that type of test to find out a few things before doing some recorded work on setting up the second standard account once the upgrade and then update or if needed again fresh install by BT folder for the latest build being the VM #6 project.

When nukking the other VM there you wouldn't have seen much once that happened since the VM would no longer fire up! The VM froze in place and had a forced shutdown of WS 12 Player! I then simply used the delete option to see that one gone for good!
