Windows 10: Remove adobe acrobat advertisement from Edge

I recently opened a PDF to make basic adjustments and was greeted with some unwanted adobe extension? I made sure there was no extension from that problematic company on my browser, but every PDF opens to some new page that is advertising Adobe's scam subscription service at me.How can I remove these dishonest advertisements for Adobe and revert back to my basic, usable PDF handling in Edge? The push to scam me into a 365 subscription is one thing, but why is Microsoft advertising scam subscriptions from other companies?

This will give users a unique PDF experience that includes higher fidelity for more accurate colors and graphics, improved performance, strong security for PDF handling, and greater accessibility—including better text selection and read-aloud narration. These capabilities will continue to be free of cost. Users who want more advanced digital document features—such as the ability to edit text and images, convert PDFs to other file formats, and combine files—can purchase an Acrobat subscription that enables access to these features anywhere, including directly inside Microsoft Edge via a browser extension. Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro not listed under set default program

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

As you are unable to set Adobe Acrobat as default program from settings, I suggest you to follow the steps provided below:

Navigate to the file which you want to open using Adobe Acrobat.

Right click on the file and select Open with and click on
choose another app.

Check if Adobe Acrobat is listed in the programs list.

If not then click on Look for another app on this PC.

Navigate to the location where Adobe Acrobat is installed and select the same.

Check the box for Always use this app to open files and click on
OK.

Adobe Acrobat and Windows 10

Hi Dianne,

Sorry for the delay in response.

If you have issues with acrobat reader, we would suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the application.

To uninstall, type appwiz.cpl

Right click adobe acrobat reader and then Uninstall
it.

You may also check for the reader app in store and then install it.
