    Remove and Switch Microsoft account


    The main user account I use on my PC is signed in to my sisters old email and is currently being used as the primary Microsoft account Note that she recently deactivated her account so had to be reactivated in order to confirm identity. I want to remove said account and switch to my own Microsoft account but it will not give me the option in settings or anywhere in general. I've tried looking it up and I've noticed people in the past have had a similar problem but none of the solutions have helped me. I've placed photos below to give an example of what I'm dealing with.     Remove account

    I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
    To delete an account, follow these steps:
    1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
    2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

    It's quite easy in fact, simply switch the account in question first to a local account, then switch back to a Microsoft account, this time using your wife's MS account credentials.

    Tutorials:
    Notice that before doing this you need to remove the new additional MS account on the PC, the one you created with her credentials. Windows allows only one user account for each email address, if the new account exists you cannot switch the original administrator account to an MS account using the same email address.     In order to remove your Microsoft account from your PC, you need to switch your Microsoft account to a local account. Follow the steps below:

    • Open Settings.
    • Click Accounts.
    • Click Sign in with a local account instead.
