Windows 10: Remove Groove from Windows 10?

I tried the guidance here:

but this does not work: after reboot Groove music is still there.

Maybe the above guidance does not work in 1803 anymore?


Is there some better way to uninstall this terrible program/app.

I expected some simple "Uninstall" when you right click on the app-icon in the menu, but no way.

Groove Music Unable to Play Music

We'll try a different approach, we suggest that you reinstall Groove Music and see if it has the same issue. Follow the steps below on how to remove and reinstall Groove Music:

• Open Start menu, search for "PowerShell"
• Right-click the PowerShell shortcut and select "Run as administrator". Agree to the UAC prompt.
• Type/Copy paste Get-AppxPackage *zunemusic* | Remove-AppxPackage.
• Once that Groove Music has been uninstalled, launch Windows 10 Store.
• Type/Search for Groove Music and install.

Groove can't find music in Windows 10

Thank you for posting your response. I understand your concern, we in Community will try to help you in the best possible way we can.

I would suggest that you Reset Groove and check if the issue persist. Follow the steps below to Reset Groove.

• On the search bar, type “Powershell” right click on it and select RUN as Administrator.
• Copy and paste the command stated here without the brackets (get-appxpackage *Microsoft.ZuneMusic* | remove-appxpackage)
• This will remove Groove from your system, you can install the app again from Store. But it will required to close Windows Store (if opened), to install Groove again.
