Discus and support Remove OneDrive Folders from Libraries? in Windows 10 Customization to solve the problem; I tried looking some more into task scheduler... schtasks /query /v /fo CSV > tasks.csv Nothing about OneDrive in there at all. 1. Remove OneDrive Folders from Libraries?

I tried looking some more into task scheduler...

    schtasks /query /v /fo CSV > tasks.csv

Nothing about OneDrive in there at all.

Edit: and I can confirm that the most recent batch file also does nothing. It hides it but the folders still add themselves back to my libraries.

  2. Lazy? Yeah, you got me there. In spades.

Nevertheless, I only post here after my binging (never googling) brings no answers.

I do thank you for that link. My issue, artlessly phrased and pointless though it may be, is permanently removing default libraries such as camera roll, pictures, saved pictures, videos, and documents. I find it bizarre that camera roll and pictures will simply reappear, during the same session and without shut down, restart, log off or anything. Delete them and they pop right back up a short time later.

Why can't I be left to my own devices and create / use the libraries that I want, not the ones that MS insists on repeatedly shoving down my throat. It's the action of taking away my free choice and then forcing me to use libraries I don't want that's the problem. I use my computer all day at work and I don't want to visually parse through useless (and now hated) camera roll, pictures, saved pictures, videos, and documents libraries.

I want to stick it to 'The Man' and use my own libraries, in complete defiance of camera roll, pictures, saved pictures, videos, and documents.

Hero worship will be heaped upon the person who shows me how to do this!!

I'm willing to bet its a service that is restoring those locations, that happened a lot with Vista. It MAY have said something about the "windows experience" or something like that.

I changed so much in win8 I dont recall everything, after upgrading to winX, anything that got deleted stayed gone.

    Remove OneDrive Folders from Libraries?

For Camera Roll & Saved Pictures, I seem to recall reading somewhere that one of the camera apps (Photo, Windows Camera, etc.) is the one recreating these folders.

You may try uninstalling them, since you can always restore them from Windows Store.

I haven't found a good answer for either Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures, or Videos since they are designated "system folders" and cannot be deleted.

However, you can prevent any library from being displayed in the Navigation Pane. (https://www.tenforums.com/general-dis...urrecting.html)

Remember, also, that libraries can be "managed" in several ways (https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/8...dows-10-a.html).

  5. I'm inclined to think it IS a "service"

I tried stopping some of the running services that didn't seem like they were important and the folders stayed gone until I rebooted.

I'll test some more and get back.

  7. OldNewExplorer does that too, so I already took care of it *Smile

But thanks for the link, hopefully it will help others who don't use that program.

    Remove OneDrive Folders from Libraries?

Those are removed and hidden thru registry tweaks.

  9. Hmm, seems to be something that runs at startup.

Leaving all the services alone, I can remove them and they stay gone until I reboot. Not sure about logging off/logging on as I'm the only user on this machine, but that could do it too.

    Maybe that helps pinpoint this...

  10. OK, so after more experimentation, I can confirm that the library entries are recreated when launching the OneDrive.exe itself.

    Seems to be in %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive

There are a bunch of settings in there... might be worth playing around with.

See, its a game from M$, OneDrive is malware!

  12. Never had any issues with it before this. What's even stranger is that I removed the built-in Windows 10 app using steps I found on another site, then downloaded the Windows 7/8 installer and ran it, it instantly "upgraded" right back to the same built-in version.

I like OneDrive, I like having synced files, I just don't want it adding itself to my library every time I boot...

Anyone feel like playing around with those config files?

    Remove OneDrive Folders from Libraries?

With OneDrive stuff you should do your own reg editing. However, there are threads about disabling thru policy and some thru reg edits, follow both.

Downloading a program to do it for you is a mistake they cant be totally trusted, or to work right.

  14. I never said anything about downloading a program to do it for me.

Those config files are built in, most likely meant to be used by administrators for deployment purposes, it's the typical Microsoft .ini file syntax

The only way I know how to remove it permanently is by clicking on Run then enter gpedit.msc or you can run this app

    Destroy Windows 10 Spying 1.5 Build 314

Using GP would be better. If you use that App make an image first.
