    Hello, everyone.

    I have this problem in Windows 10.

    I don't want it, I like windows 7. But, hardware changes and stigma for anything you like personally are gradually and forcefully being changed in a direction I can't control. i.e. companies requiring a certain browser, or version, or program that only runs on this OS or that phone, etc, etc just to pay a bill or do work.

    My biggest issue with Windows 10 is the smooth fonts. As you know, cleartype and anti aliased fonts are insanely bad for your eyes long term. Me, personally, I have to have my fonts crisp and clear--like those in the sidebar here--or I get unbelievable migraines.

    After scouring the internet, and doing multiple vm tests with different configurations, I've gotten Windows 10 to show about 60% clean fonts, and the other half no change. Have a look:

    Those that are familiar with the default look of windows 10 should see a difference immediately. What I'm trying to do is remove the rest of smooth fonts if possible.

    Any suggestions would be great!

    Here is what I use so far:

    • ClassicShellSetup_4_3_1
    • Windows10_DPI_FIX

    • remove_win10_fontsmoothing_best (tweaked reg file, do not use unless you know what you're doing)

    There are many of you out there much smarter than I am in regards to this, so if you know of a potential solution, a link, a suggested tweak, etc I am all ears and I will test it. No harm no foul. I just want a clean OS that happens to have to be windows 10 soon for work, but I can't use this as is.

    Hi,

    For clarification regarding your smooth fonts in Windows, we would like to know if you are referring to the
    Smooth edges of screen fonts option in Windows 10. If yes, we suggest that you follow the steps below on how to select it:

    • Type-in advanced in the search box, and click View advanced system settings on the list.
    • As the System Properties window shows up, tap Settings in Performance.
    • Select Smooth edges of screen fonts, and hit OK.

    We would appreciate it if you could get back to us and provide us your feedback.

    Just curious, is there such a thing as Hardware Accelerated Font Smoothing (Font Anti-Aliasing)?

    Does any of the ATI or nVidia chipset supports it?

    Hardware Font Smoothing?

    What I mean is that is the font smoothing (ClearType/Standard Font Smoothing) is accelerated (processed) by the GPU.. I know how to enable it and my display colour quality is at 32-bits per pixel (I don't hink that affects text quality though).. *Wink Remove windows 10 font smoothing? ;)
