Windows 10: Removing files from a hidden account

hi i would like your help because i removed a account from netplwiz and when i try to remove/delete it, it says "you need permission to preform this action you require permission from S-1-5-21-2399570374-671425995-2617001689-1002 to make changes to this folder" even know i am using an admin account. I tried following these steps and it did not work,


Now if it's not there, and only the folder remains, here's how to solve that one. There's many ways to do this but it requires preciseness.

1. Open the C:\Users folder.
2. Right-click the user folder you want to delete, go to Properties.
3. On the security tab, click Advanced.
4. In the window that opens, next to "Owner" at the top, click Change
5. In the 'Select user or group' box, leave it empty and click Advanced
6. In the search box that opens, leave it empty and click Find Now
7. In the list at the bottom, find Administrators (make sure it has the S at the end). Highlight it, then click OK.
8. Click OK again to confirm the selection.
9. Click OK again to close the Advanced Security box
10. Click OK again to close the folder properties box
11. At this point, you should be back at step 1 with only the Users folder open
12. Right-click the folder to delete, and choose Delete. It should prompt you with a continue button.

when i got to step nine it said unable to set new owner access denied. So if you find a solution please contact me at *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

Remove account


I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

   net user test /del

 

'Hidden Administrator' account asking for password.

We would like to clarify how did you enable the Hidden Administrator account. We suggest using the
Local Security Policy to enable to hidden administrator in Windows 10. Kindly follow these steps:

• Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog.
• Type secpol.msc, and click on OK.
• In the left pane, click on the Local Policies folder to expand it, and click on the
  Security Options folder.
• In the right pane of Security Options, double click on
  Accounts: Administrator account status.
• Select Enabled, and click on OK.

All hidden files turned Un-hidden

Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community and being part of Windows 10.

I suggest you to re-add them to the hidden items list and check.

Steps:

• Right click on the folders to hide, select Properties.
• Go to General tab, under Attributes check mark the option
  Hidden.
• Click on Apply and on Ok.

I suggest you not to use any third party anti-virus software. Try to use Windows Defender.
