Windows 10: Removing Initial Microsoft Account

I currently have a work laptop from a previous employee, which was bought new and set up with his own personal email account. We're trying to remove it however as the laptop was started up with this email the only option we have is 'Manage', we can't delete by going through this as it requires a password, which we don't have. I don't want to reset the laptop as I'm worried that Microsoft Office will uninstall and I'm not sure where the information is to do reinstall. Is there any way to remove this main account without a password and replace it with a new one?

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

Is there a way to directly sign-in to without entering Microsoft account credentials

As an initial troubleshooting step I suggest you to try remove & re-add account & check if the issue persists.

Remove & Re-Add account:

  Select Manage Accounts.

  Click on the account name.

  Select the option remove account & reconfigure account.

• How did you go about removing the account from the old laptop?
