Windows 10: Removing temp files

Hi,Disk properties on C:\ shows about 38Gb being populated by temp files. Trying to delete it via disk cleanup as well as accessing the folder via run with %temp% does not clear all files. Is there any way to clear up this space. I had around 50gigs which I always keep free on C:\ but now its down to 22Gb, i am worried that C:\ will soon run out of space despite having nothing other than windows and programs on it, even libraries are on another drive.Thank You.

When trying to erase them, is an error generated? I say this because I understood that you cannot eliminate them. Here the steps to eliminate them:

I also apply this option to delete them:

1.- Windows + R >> Run, now type: temp + Enter, select all the files, and press Shift + Delete

2.- Windows + R >> Run, now write:% temp% + Enter, select all the files, and press Shift + Delete

3.- Windows + I >> Settings >> System >> Storage (Click on the option) >> Select the list of temporary folders >> Remove files

Temp Files : Runaway Creation

Windows Temporary files are created by the operating system during the normal course of its running when there may not be enough memory allocated for the task.

I suggest you to follow the steps below to delete temporary files nad check if it helps:

Step 1

• Press Windows key + R
• Type temp and click OK
• Press Ctrl + A and click Delete

Step 2

• Press Windows key + R
• Type %temp% and click OK
• Press Ctrl + A and click Delete

Step 3

• Press Windows key + R
• Type prefetch and click OK
• Press Ctrl + A and click Delete

Temp file cleanup trouble

Follow these steps to remove excess Temp Files:

1. Press Windows key + i to open settings.

2.Select System > Storage and then scroll down the list and choose Temporary files.

3. delete temp files by clicking "Remove Files" just be careful on downloaded files.
