  1. Renaming the folder back to original after moving Downloads folder

The HDD where my Downloads folder was located failed, and I wanted to change the location of the Downloads folder. I thought that changing it to an existing folder was a good idea. I did that, and the folder changed from it's name "xyz" to Downloads in the Explorer.

I realized this is not what I want, so I created a "Downloads" folder on the HDD, and changed the location of the Downloads folder to this (same HDD).

I was then left with two Downloads folders (with the down arrow icon), and wanting to rename the original one back to "xyz" results in an error message saying that a folder by this name already exists.

How do I go back to normal (i.e. having one Downloads folder and "xyz" folder)?

  2. Renaming and moving folders

What steps do you take to try and rename a folder? Have you selected it and then right clicked on it to be able to rename it?

Moving a folder, where do you want to move it and from where?

The more information you provide about what you are wanting to do and how you are trying to do it the easier it may be to help you.

If necessary use steps recorder to show us.
