    Repeated BSOD and failed updates


    Hi,My laptop MSI running Windows 10 has been seriously playing up lately. I've now had about 10 blue screen crashes in the last 30 minutes and haven't been able to keep the laptop on for more than about 5 minutes at a time! I've had similar problems before, caused by some corrupted hardware, but I can't remember the steps to find out what is the likely cause of the crashes. Any help would be much appreciated!In case it's relevant, I'm unable to keep up with the latest updates currently. Small updates e.g. for Windows defender work perfectly, but any cumulative updates or the new rollout of

    Windows 10 fails to update


    When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

    Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

    I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

    Repeated BSOD and failed updates

    Repeated windows 10 downloads failed.

    Windows 10 download failed according to the updates list. Windows 10 downloads failed three times yesterday the 28th and four times today.

    Updates list Windows 10 failed to download. I followed the suggested links to find out why, to no avail.

    80240020 is the error code.
