Repeated BSOD (DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION) no specific application

    Hi,

I have had repeated BSOD with message (DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION) on a Lenovo E550 running Win 10 Pro 6 bit (upgraded from win 8.1pro 64). It occurred:
    1. on sleeping, and
    2. seemingly randomly. i.e. with applications open, idle with no applications open

I seem to have got around (1) by unchecking the "Turn on fast startup" option in Power Options. but the BSOD continues to occur at other times.

I have used the Lenovo System update tool to update the drivers it can but have reached the limit of my current capabilities/knowledge so am looking for some help interpreting the dump files and troublshooting

Per BSOD posting instructions I've run the utility and attached the zip file to the post.

    Thanks for any advice/direction.

    :)

    Welcome to the 10forums.

Old drivers, please check for updates as far as possible, for Intel you probably need to be at your manufacturer.

    Hi axe0

    1. Have uninstalled and reinstalled AMD drivers using utility and manuf. drivers per instructions
    2. Updated sound driver using Lenovo System Update tool but it driverquery does not report a newer date for CHDRT64.sys
    3. Updated intel drivers using Lenovo System Update tool but it driverquery does not report a newer date for iwdbus or IntelPcc
    3. Updated Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver using Lenovo System Update tool but it driverquery does not report a newer date for iaStorA
    4. I have not worked out how to disable the Intel Rapid Storage Technology service - I couldn't see a service with a similar name
    5. Uninstalled application associated with VClone driver

Should I rerun the BSOD forum tool to confirm any changes?

Early days yet, but I have not have a BSOD since updates above. Monitoring to see it reoccurs.

Thanks very much for your assistance.

The reason why you cannot find the IRST service is because it is not installed, I didn't check it properly.

Is Trend Micro checked for software updates? Trend Micro has a driver from 2009 that is not compatible with Windows 10.

    axe0,

Thanks for letting me know about the IRST Service.

I haven't updated trend micro. Appreciate you highlighting that its not compatible with Windows 10. I will update to a Windows 10 compatible anti virus.

Still haven't had a BSOD in > 24 hours. A good sign given I had 14 BSODs yesterday.

    fingers crossed...

Marked as solved. Still no BSODs since driver updates 4 days ago.
Still looking at updating the antivirus, but it does not appear to be causing any issues.
    Thanks again axe0!
