Windows 10: Replace 'Date' with 'Date Modified'

I've been reasonably successful in replacing the default Date column with Date Modified in folders. But how do I do the same for Open, and 'Save as' browse dialogs please?

I think what Andrew E. is referring to as battery is the CMOS battery on your laptop, and not the laptop battery itself. The CMOS is needed for your BIOS to retain it's settings and not go back to factory default. See the image for your reference:


We suggest to have it replaced and contact the manufacturer of your laptop about the BIOS settings since they have the proper information on how to change these settings, as BIOS are all different depending on the manufacturer.

Normally when the OS is out of sync with date/time,its because the BIOS isn't in default,this is usually

due to a battery that's in fault,with a desktop pc,replace MB battery,with a laptop,same applies,however

a faulty laptop battery can run if the charger is plugged in at all times..Also,a desktop pc,powere off,remove

the 2032 battery,wait 12 minutes,install new,power up pc.Once pc starts,enter the BIOS,reset date/time,edit

for add-on cards,save & exit BIOS..Read owners manual

 

Did you do the whole "Apply To Folders" process?

Open C:\ > View > Options > View > Apply to Folders button

Modify the columns in a 'Save' dialog while you are there, it should save the settings for the chosen destination only.

 

Thanks Edwin, I'll try that, although I really hope there is a solution (registry hack maybe?) that will avoid my having to do this for scores or possibly hundreds of dialogs.

That doesn't work here anyway. I changed it for a specific folder and the first few saves to that folder correctly displayed Date Modified. But it didn't 'stick'. A couple of hours later, another save now shows Date again.
