Windows 10: replace MS office Home and Student 2010 with Libre office

Discus and support replace MS office Home and Student 2010 with Libre office in Microsoft Office and 365 to solve the problem; It's the same for Office as it is for Windows.     You can, Maranna. It costs $149 for the current version; Buy and Compare Microsoft Office Products | Office

    However, Bree has explained support for Office 2010 through 2020, so you may want to stick with that.

    For me, it would depend on whether I needed the advanced features of Office 2016 or not.

    If my Microsoft home and student 2010 is still supported I will stick with it I was concerned about security but now that I know it is supported I will not migrate to LibreOffice I can't see paying 149 for office if I only use word occasionally I think everything is going to be by the year and buy subscription soon

    I have Office 2010 Pro and I tried it on Windows 10 and SP2 would not install.

    You may already have had service pack 2 installed through Windows Update. To find out, look at the version number in one of your Office apps.


    If you haven't got Service Pack 2 yet, the above article has download links to get it.

    The above appears to be my version so maybe Windows installed an automatic update which make it ok?
    I just installed it and let Windows perform updates.
    Thank you for the helpful information; I appreciate your taking the time. So I am relatively ok till 2022?

    Actually 2020, but it looks like you have a few added zeros there. It should be 14.0.7190.5000 not 1400.0.7190.5000, yes?

    And yes, Office has a rather "quiet" update process.

    This is just hypothetical as I am staying with M$Office until 2020.
    Does LibreOffice with an email client sound ok? I have three email accounts.
    I know some options are not good as they only have one email or they cost etc.
    Please let me know if there are any red flags.

    P.S. I have come back to report that I would be stuck; non of the choices I found are:
    free, easy to set up, allow for 3 accounts.
    I could not find one that met the above criteria so if you know of one please let me know.
