    Replace wireless card with wireless + Bluetooth?


    I have decided to fix up my older laptop instead of buying a new one. I recently added RAM & a new hard drive, 1TB, 7200 RPM with Advanced Formatting. I would like to know if I can replace my wireless card with with a wireless/Bluetooth card. I currently have a Realtek RTL8188CE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC. what do I have to take into consideration before I buy a new card? Will a Bluetooth card even work with my system?Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

    Upgrading ASUS CM6870 to Windows 10 Creators Edition 1703 (RT3090 PCIe wireless card)

    Just pull out the wireless card and the update will run.

    You can replace with a newer wireless card if you like, or move to a USB wireless card.

    Once the wireless card is removed, the update will complete.

    Upgrading ASUS CM6870 to Windows 10 Creators Edition 1703 (RT3090 PCIe wireless card)

    If you use a non RT3090 wireless card, it will work. I recommend people replace their wireless card with a cheap USB wireless card.

    Also, you can reinstall the card one the update complete. The card only fails DURING the update, not after.

    Rumor is that the spring update fixes that.
