  1. Reputation based protection turned off

    Dear Support,

I had an security intelligence update just a little ago and since i had my PC running already the full day, i decided to restart my computer to clean up some unnecessary running files, as i usually do.

But after the restart, my windows defender showed a warning icon and it said that my reputation baded protection was off.

I had done my upgrade from 1909 to 20h2 yesterday, and i checked through the defender and i knew that "block apps" was not on, but everything else was.

It gave a green icon all the times even with earlier intelligence updates, because i regularly check for them.

But after this time it was turnwd off, i turned it back on of course and after that, both "blocks" were activei did not uncheck any box after this and kept it as it was.

Is this a bug or glitch happened due to the intelligence update+restart?

Or is there something bad appening??

I must note: i did an full scan, MSERT + VRT scan and an offline scan to check on anything weird.

Also, nothing suspicious is active on my background

    None gave any negative results.

No suspicious things are happening or active in the background processes nor on any other task manager tab.

I hope someone can confirm that i am safe or that there is something hidden happening.

    :)

  3. Turning on spyware and virus protection

    Hello,

I realize the inconvenience you are experiencing with Windows 10. I will certainly help you.

Windows Defender is the default real-time (always on) protection program in Windows 8, 8.1 and 10.

If there are any third party security software installed, then Windows Defender will get disabled automatically.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it help:

    • Open Settings by either clicking on the Settings icon on the Start menu or simultaneously pressing Windows and I keys.

    • Click on Update & Security.

    • Click on Windows Defender, and on the left right side, turn on.

Hope this helps in resolving the issue. If the issue persists, do get back to us. We will be happy to assist you.

    Thank you.

    • In the command prompt, type in net user administrator /active:yes and press Enter.
    • Log out and log back in using the Administrator account.
