    Reset removed programs and when downloading they don't appear in all p


    Hello everyone,

    I reset my laptop today to help boost performance, i was aware that it would wipe all my programs. Now when i download a program they don't appear anywhere.

    Can someone please shed some light?

    Hi Randal, When you reset Windows, any 3rd party software you have installed will be removed and will require re-installation.

    Hi Randell. I'm Greg, an installation specialist and 8 year Windows MVP, here to help you.

    Go over this checklist to make sure the install is set up correctly, optimized for best performance, and any needed repairs get done:

    If nothing else helps then run a Repair Install by installing the Media Creation Tool and choosing from it to Upgrade Now. This solves many problems and will also bring it up to the latest version which you need anyway and by the most stable method.

    But remember that Factory or Upgrade installs are inferior installs which most enthusiasts won't even run because they'd expect endless issues. Consider doing the Clean Install in this link which compiles the best possible install that will stay that way as
    long as you stick with the tools and methods given:

    There is also an automated Refresh that reinstalls WIndows while shedding corrupting factory bloatware, saves your files, but doesn't clear the drive to get it cleanest:

    What do you mean by resetting it? Performance is all about what programs you have running in the background, how much RAM, how fast the CPU is, what you are doing at the time that you feel that the performance is lagging. As for the programs when downloading, they should go into the Download folder. If using Edge or Internet Explorer, they tend to go into the temp file location.
