Windows 10: reset windows password

Windows will not let me reset my password. I have tryed diffrent browsers, even spoke with support yesterday was told to give it 24 hours and stil nothing. I can log into my accont via PC no issues, I cannot however log into my xbox. Its the same account. I try to change the password to see if that will help, but every time i eher get the message session has timed out or im asked to enter in the back up code. where i told that that service is not avalible. how can this be sorted

BTW, there's no jumper for a password reset in Windows.
