Resolution dropped - and no option to increase

I have a PC with an NVIDIA GTX 560 Ti graphics card, and use a Samsung S23C650 monitor .
This is normally set to resolution of 1920 x 1080

Today I run IOBIT driver update - and it updated some drivers ... and now my screen resolution is way off ... set to 1024 x 768.
If I go to settings it does not show anything higher than 1024 x 768 and if I go to adapter (NVIDIA GTX 560 Ti) it only lists modes up to 1024 x 768.
Looks like this driver update has messed up my display adapter ..... anybody know how to recover ?

    NVIDIA adapter shows driver 21.21.13.7633

    :)

Go here: Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers and download proper WDDM drivers.

Do not rely on those auto updaters for any components you can get drivers for straight thru the source. They "update" drivers only according to what someone else thinks you should have. Not reliable source.

I did go to nVidia site .. every time I tried to check what driver I needed it failed - it needs Java .. and my browsers do not use Jave due to security risk.
I did manually install Java on new browser just to do this ... and even though Java installed it still failed asking for Java.
I have asked on nVidia forum what correct driver is ... no answer yet.

W10 installed 21.21.13.7633 = 376.33 so it seams newest driver is already installed.

  13. Resolution dropped - and no option to increase

You could try uninstalling the current NVidia driver. That should put it back to Standard VGA Adapter, temporarily. Then let Windows update download and install the correct one.

I did a roll back ... did not make any difference
Then let Windows update to its preferred driver - no difference

Left it for several Hrs on next start up all OK again

Now installed latest driver for video card from nVidia and all still OK ... so looks like it is sorted.

Guess I won't use 'Driver Booster' again.

  15. IMHO programs like that are just snake oil. At the very least your paying them to do something you can do yourself with a little time and effort. Glad you got it working again.
