Windows 10: Resolution help

hi guys; i have my Hp dv-6 1259DX and it has Intel card Hd 4500 with max resolution 1366x720 and my LCD Tv has the same resolution through HDMI,how come whem i use 1366x720 my TV displays a very small screen,in order to fill tv screen i have to change resolution to 1280x720 and then has screen edges cut,i realy don't understand,can you shad some light, is there any drivers that can adjust the 1366x720 to fit the screen, in Win 10 or win 7?

Also when i try to use extended monitor with my Hd TV connected with HDMI to my Laptop HP DV-6,1259DX, i get this screen,how do i get independent resolution for laptop and TV monitor?

Hello,

A discrepancy with the compatibility of the driver and Windows 10 might have resulted in a screen resolution issue. To resolve this, kindly upgrade your Windows 10; then roll back the driver to the previous version. You may refer to the solution provided
by DaveM121's or to Andre Da Costa's solution posted

here.

Rolling back the driver worked, thank you for your help it was driving me nuts.

 

Your screenshot shows you have selected extended but not applied it. Click Apply, thereafter you can select resolution independently for both displays.

 

Thanks Kari; i do that and i get to change resolution but only have windows 10 screen with no controls on the monitor TV 2,on PC monitor 1 works ok.

 

That's the whole idea of the extended desktop. You can drag browser, an application or File Explorer window (almost any item) to the secondary display as you wish. Keep browser on display 1 while watching a video on display 2 for instance. Here's a short video, my laptop's display (#1) at left, resolution 1600*900, and at right an external display (#2), resolution 1920*1080:

thanks but i seem not drag anything,your video do not show all the settings so i can do the same.

Also my pc only has max resolution 1366x768 and the resolution that best fill the TV screen is 1280x720 with a little of the wedge cut off , so i will not benefit doing extended monitors besides be able to browse the web on monitor one and watch stream or whatever on monitor 2,
my primer wish was to fit the pic in the tv not cut off edges, but it seems with integrated intel HD 4500 video card will not put out resolution 1920x1080, with amd Ati cards you can at least in Ubuntu 14.04 install Ati software then it makes it fit the screen no matter what. so the fault lays on the Intel HD4500 software drivers in win

 

• Bring the pointer over the titlebar of the window you want to drag
• Press and hold down the left mouse button
• Drag the window to secondary display
• Release the mouse button

 

Thanks kari, i was able to do the extended monitor and get 1920x1080 resolution but i have the over scan that doesn't let me control monitor 2 ,since i have to set it to monitor 2 only to obtain 1920x1080, the overscan will not let me use the controls.


Also i found this info, this seems to be too hard for me!,is this doable on Intel 4500 Video card on my HP DV-6 1259DX?
