Resolved - Device linked to account deactivated by mistake

    Hi,

I've just updated major components in my PC. I've made a fresh install of windows but could not find the install key as I use a pendrive to install it and have misplaced the disk. Havent used disk drives for years now.

My understanding was that the license was linked to my account. I went to device manager and read about store having max of 10 devices and somehowe thought that deactivating that device and unlinking it from my account would free the license.

It appears that it does not... What to do If I don't have a key on hand?

I've read afterwards that I should have used the store to do it, but how would I know?

Anyone has any ideas on what to do?

    :)

Boot into Safe Mode on Windows 10

    Option 1, step 6.

If you power off, then power on while holding the shift key, I believe it will take you to these options.
