Just posting here to advise Microsoft that one of our servers hosted in AWS went into a restart loop after installation of:2022-01 Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 3.5, 4.5.2, 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2, 4.7, 4.7.1, 4.7.2, 4.8 for Windows Server 2012 R2 for x64 KB5009721 2022-01 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows Server 2012 R2 for x64-based Systems KB5009624 It would not boot until we ran the following from a rescue instance:dism.exe /image:E:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactionsI know there have been similar issues reported with Domain Controllers, but this Server 201

Convert Windows Server 2012 R2 Evaluation to Windows Server 2012 R2

I have purchased the product key of Windows Server 2012 R2. Now the server is on Windows Server 2012 R2 Evaluation. I found a few links there they explained on how to convert from Windows Server 2012 R2 Evaluation to Windows Server 2012 R2 with valid product

Is this a correct way to do? If I follow this step, will my data be erased?

I want to avoid formatting/fresh Windows install because there are some software in the server that we do not know how to backup. We just want to get it activated now, backup will be sorted out later.

 

Server 2012 R2 window feature backup loop start count file.

I have Server install window Server 2012 R2. I set window feature backup incremental to external HDD. Sometime, Server backup loop. It start count file about 2TB every months (Full Backup). I need your suggestion.

I did an upgrade from server standard evaluation to standard using the process below after I purchased a licence key from Microsoft volume
licencing software .

and a retail product key. The server will restart twice

The activation error occurring while am trying to put my product key
"this key didn't work please check it and try again or try different key" . Tried to do activation by phone but the installation ID is not valid. How can i activate without having to reinstall the OS again?
