Restoring Administrator privileges on primary account associated with device

    Hi all,

I was playing around with my computer and decided to add a local administrator on the computer and created a random password thinking I could reset it later but also accidentally deleted my account Linked to my Microsoft account from being an administrator.

Is there any way to reverse this or add my account to be an administrator again?

Within my Microsoft account, the device is listed within my devices: https://account.microsoft.com/devices/ and the Windows copy of windows on the machine are linked to this account. Given that that shows I own this device is there any way to give myself administrator again?

I thought about possibly resetting the machine reset this PC and starting again but I need to enter the password for the local account before even being able to do that.

I need to be able to install a program however I cannot without the local accounts password :S

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Thank you :S

    :)

  4. Restoring Administrator privileges on primary account associated with device

Never prompted to elevate privilege as administrator

OK, I tried Dinesh's tutorial. First, here's a list of accounts for my machine:

I held down Shift and rebooted, and got the WinRE splash screen. I was prompted to log in, with "Dan" my only option:

If I clicked on "Don't see your account", I got this:

Is it suggesting that "Dan" is an administrator account? Oh, that it were so... I went back, selected the "Dan" account, and it booted into command prompt. I then attempted the first of Dinesh's instructions:

Hello darkness, my old friend... "Access Denied."
