Windows 10: Retail license

can we use retail license windows 10 pro for Organization?


If YES, there is no objection from Microsoft?

Windows 10 Pro Retail or OEM or Volume License

Hi Raju,

This is an interesting topic. If the last three letters of your Product ID ends with
OEM, then your license was issued by manufacturer. These type of licenses cannot be transferred to another computer because it is tied up with the device itself. Otherwise, if it doesn't end with OEM, your copy of Windows is from a retail merchant.
These licenses can be transferred to another computer. Unless your device was issued by your company, or from an organization, then it could have been activated under Volume licensing.

To be sure, check the type of license you that you have by following these steps:

• Open Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type slmgr -dli and press Enter.
• It will show you a pop up box telling you what type of license you are using.

Retail License Limit

1 retail license can be activated on one PC at a time. There are another type of licenses called MAK license where a single key can activate multiple computers. Usually, unofficial stores(other than Amazon.com and Microsoft Store) sell MAK licenses saying
it is a retail license and that gets blocked when Microsoft detects is misuse(MAK licenses are meant for corporate environments)

 

Enterprise license Upgrade with Retail license

Hi i have a client who using enterprise license for windows 7 Pro and office 2010 Pro on 100 machines, now they would like to upgrade with using retail license windows 10 Pro and office 2016 or 2019 Pro,

kindly advise is that possible to surrender all enterprise license on same time and upgrade with retail license.
