    Retrieving data from Windows 10 HDD


    I have a hard drive from a Windows 10 laptop that crashed during a Windows update. I tried repeatedly but none of the system repair steps were successful. I think most of my files were backed up to OneDrive but I am not confident.


    I removed the HDD from my laptop and put it in a drive enclosure. An older Windows machine will recognize the drive but I can’t locate any data on it. My newer laptop won’t even recognize the external drive. Is this an issue due to BitLocker? What should I do to access/retrieve the data from this drive?

    Windows 10 taking forever to install

    Ruh roh. I'd plug the HDD into another computer, retrieve the data, install windows 7, then force windows 10 upgrade. The power loss during the upgrade most likely ruined the upgrade process.

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    How does GPU-Z retrieve thermal sensor data ?

    Hi,

    I'm developping my own CPU/GPU/RAM monitoring app and I was wondering how does the GPU-Z engine to retrieve thermal sensor data ? *Confused Retrieving data from Windows 10 HDD :confused:

    I mean, I know NVIDIA provides functions to retrieve temperatures and that old ATI cards had some chips like LM63 to retrieve thermal information.

    Unfortunately I'm working on my ATI Radeon 4850 and it seems to have no more LM63 or simillar chip on the card (I listed all the chips *Stick Out Tongue Retrieving data from Windows 10 HDD :p).

    So I'm "*Bang Head :banghead:". I searched a lot but I didn't found any information about that.

    Where can I find the thermal sensor data on recent ATI Radeon cards : ATI SDK, DIRECTX SDK, BIOS, SMBUS, ACPI, something else ??
