Windows 10: retrieving windows.old folder!

Hello there,

I created some shortcut keys for pictures, family videos and documents from my 'windows.old' folder. I had upgraded to windows 7 to windows 10 about a year ago, few months earlier I had some problem with laptop, so I reinstall windows 10 again. However, it was working fine, my family can access every time they want to see the family pictures ! Suddenly last night, the folders can't be accessible anymore, it is showing the following message,


The item 'FOLDER NAME' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly. Do you want to delete this shortcut?


Obviously I am in panic, and I did not delete the shortcut key, and definitely I did not delete any of the pictures and videos (almost 130 gb) ! I have no idea what to do now. After some research I did find out, the windows.old folder delete automatically after 28 days, which I did not know at all. I am in fear loosing all the pictures , cause the drive is displaying more free space than before, please help me, there are pictures of our child and lots of family memories. It will be a massive heartbreaking situation.

Note: You can retrieve the old files but not the programs installed on your PC after the upgrade. Programs that has been removed must be reinstalled.
