    Return of the KB3150513 Update

This was used to prepare for upgrade to win 10 ,so why are some win 10 users now being prompted to download it.

It updates C:/Windows/System32/appraiser - this contains files related to hardware/software compatibility and enables
it to evaluate your system and determine its compatibility for future ugrades to windows 10.

So they want to update that information.Probably why someone like me who is currently running 1511 and blocking 1607
has been prompted to download it.

I wonder if in the future they are going to use this to force people to install 1607?

    :)

  2. KB3176493 and KB3172729 Windows 10 security updates messing with Laptop

    Hi evvdveld,

please have a look into your windows update history:

Did this happen, although KB3150513 (date: Sept, 1) is installed?

Or is KB3150513 just not installed on your system?

The answer you give might indicate, whether KB3150513 is a substantial game changer with respect to the this thread's topic. Or whether KB3150513 is in no way a fix to the problems, 3176493 and/or 3172729 made us run into.

Microsoft Update KB3150513 installed 5 times in the last 2 months

    Thanks for your response.

    I have Win10 Version 1607.

For that version there only appears to be one update sent out according to the catalogue.

    I put a search in for KB3150513 windows 10.

Whereas this is what I see in my Update History :

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
